My Ipod touch screen would go dark sometimes but you could still see the display, so sent it in to Digiexpress. Iwas told it needed a new lcd screen and they recommended a battery, so I told them to go ahead. After about a week i called and they said it was on the charging station and would ship out the following day. A week later called again to see where it was. Customer service then told me the ipod would not restore and needed a new mainboard. That would cost an additional $150 to the already $25 service fee and $60 or so for screen and battery. I asked why is it the board now and was told it can happen from opening up the ipod and replacing parts. They also offered to put my old screen back in with a new board to save some money. (Now i guess it wasnt the screen to begin with since they can use my old one). So i elected to have them return it to me with my original parts. They informed me that now my ipod will no longer be operational since it wont restore the screen is stuck with the apple logo. So in the end I paid Digiexpress $25 to turn my ipod touch into a paper weight. Get a clue or send your techs to apple school.
