I bought a phone at the Wirelesswave store in Coquitlam Center, Coquitlam, BC. BIG MISTAKE!!!

If I could turn back time, I would go to the actual cell phone store (Fido) who I got my plan with.

What happened was that I was interested in buying an iphone. The sales rep sold me an iphone 3G. At the time of purchase, I asked him if this was the latest iphone and stated that I would be very annoyed to find out there is a new iphone in a few months. He assured me that the 3G was the latest. After a few days, I find out that there is indeed a new iphone update to the 3G, and its the 3GS.

I return to the store wanting to switch my phone to the 3GS and they told me that I could not do it because I had used the phone for 50 min. And in my Fido contract it stated that if I use the phone more than 30 min, I cannot return it. Well I was pretty upset by this, and phoned Fido explaining the situation. Fido agreed to switch the phone if the store manager was willing to do it. Well he wasnt. Fido even cancelled my contract so that I can sign a whole new one for the 3GS, but the Wirelesswave store manager would NOT budge.

He told me that I should have read my contract and that I should have known about the iphone update myself. I told him that this was your sales reps job to tell me and when I asked him, he said NO there is no new update. So he either lied, or he misrepresented both fido and iphone. The manager told me that it was my job to know what phone I want to buy and that it was my choice to buy the 3G. I told him that it was my choice to buy the 3G because I was not offered any other option! He started going on and on about how the 3G is no different than 3GS and that Im making a big deal out of nothing. But it is MY RIGHT as a consumer to want the latest phone. Anyway, I ended up speaking with his district leader, who also said that if Fido okd the trade (due to the contract issue) that the store manager will do the trade for me. The store manager still refused. I told the district leader this, and he said he didnt care and that I could take this as far as I like, but Im basically stuck with the 3G.

Im VERY frustrated and I hope nothing like this ever happens to anyone. So DONT GO TO WIRELESSWAVE!!!

Oh and Fido also told me that if I had bought my phone from a Fido store, or over the phone - they could have helped me, but since Wirelesswave is a lone store, they cant due anything about it because its the store policy I would have to abide by and that basically its the store managers choice to help me or not. And in this case he DID NOT help me. But made me feel belittled and stupid. I was almost in tears at the store because he was so rude.
