I was shopping with a developmentaly disabled adult yesterday for a dvd. We generally go into the store shopping for dvd's once a month as a reward. He is able to pick out whatever dvd he wishes. He ended up picking out a title that was blue ray. We didnt realize it till we got home and it wouldnt play. We shop this same aisle (out in the middle lots of foot traffic). Month after month. Yesterday we found out they replaced the dvd's with blue ray. There were no big signs saying blue ray, nothing noted saying if you buy this you cannot return it because of federal copyright laws! Well upon trying to return it we got the ussual walmart one service desk representative to 20 customers at the return desk. The policy apparently is that they could return it for a dvd if they had the same movie in dvd format. They found they did not have one, I asked for other recourse and after several other employee's trying to figure what to do someone did a store search of the local area. No dvd of the movie we bought on blue ray. Your out of luck and they will not listen to reason. This is the 4th electronic item I have bought at walmart that neededto be returned over the past 2 years and always they grudgingly point to the service desk policies when you want to return defective or misbegotten items. Why can't they post these return policies where you buy the item, or... Type it on your receipt like other stores. Why has a store that was known for taking back everything (which is why lots of people shop there) suddenly become another corporate all we want is your money not your loyalty to our store. I spend thousands at this store every year. NOT ONE PENNY MORE!!! I am sick to death of there attitude and change of heart. To me their just another corporate ripoff!!!
