I purchased an LG Envy Touch on October 5. The purchase of this phone made me eligible for a $100 rebate. I filled out all the necessary forms and mailed them to the rebate center within the necessary time frame and before the deadline listed on the rebate form. However, the rebate center sent me back a postcard saying that the cannot issue a rebate because of "Invalid purchase date". Upon inspection of a copy of the forms I had mailed in, I noticed that the agent at Verizon had given me the form that is good for purchases through October 3 and my phone was not purchased until October 5. Realizing that this was probably an honest mistake, I took the forms into the Verizon store and talked to an associate who told me she did not have the rebate form that goes all the way back to October 5, but that I could call *611 and they would easily send me the correct form. However, upon calling *611 I was told they could not help me and was given the 1-800 number to the rebate center. I then called that number just to have the associate tell me that it was past 90 days and there is nothing she can do. I find this hard to believe since this whole issue is a product of a mistake made by a Verizon associate and was due in no part to my own negligence. I realize that the time frame is outside of 90 days and I mentioned this to the associate in the store and she still said there would be no problem, that resubmissions have a longer time frame. I would like to obtain the $100 that I deserve and was promised.
