Updates cost you 90% of what you paid for the GPS

I purchased a new g p s made by Nextar in November. It has had a few problems like not knowing where it was and then goes into a fatal error.

Ok, I can deal with that. I contacted the company via the internet to question an update for the G P S. They sent me a form letter telling me to go to theit site. I did and found out that my first and only update was going to cost me $69.95 plus tax and shipping to receive it. I spoke to Customer Service (LOL) about this and explained that I bought it for $119.00, got a $20.00 rebate and this was the only update I have ever received.

He said that is the charge for an update. If I would have known I was going to buy the gps again, I would have bought a different brand that updates the device when you are using it. The little dollars more would pay off in the end. Don't buy from this company unless you have money to throw away year after year.
