Leon's Furniture & Appliance Warehouse And Showroom
Ripped offf, lied to and forced to pay for something not in our possession?

Purchased a large scree plasma TV from Leon's on December 28. They pricematched for us and we got 6 months no interest financing as opposed to their usual 15 months. We agreed to pick the TV up ourselves as the wait for them to deliver would have been 2 weeks. We got a van/cab to pick it up at a cost of $60 and brought the TV home. Immediately we noticed banding on the set and flickering on all inputs be they HD, SD or Blu-ray. We called Samsung the next day, the first day they were open, and let them know. We were dealing with a Lori who agreed that the set was defective and she told us she would arrange a refund with Leon's. Finally on January 5th we were asked to call Chantal at Leon's whom Samsung had been dealing with to arrange our refund. My wife called Chantal and asked her two different times if this was a full refund and to confirm we would not owe the $3800 in June. Chantal confirmed this and we hired a truck at a cost of $50 to return the TV. When we arrived at the store Chantal had left and we were informed by the exceptionally rude manager, Hakim, that he would not refund the money and we would have to pick something else out. We asked him to call Chantal to confirm the refund and he refused. We attempted for 3 hours to deal with him and all he'd say was if you haven't purchased something by June then the $3800 will be owing. How on earth could we owe money for something that had been returned and was not in our possession?
Quite frankly we feel we cannot trust Hakim and that we will/would get a floor model rather than a replacement sealed box TV as we were told there were no more left in Canada other than floor demos. Samsung says they will pay Leon's for the TV and Desjardins, the finance company, says the charges have been waived so Leon's is out NO MONEY yet they're insisting we must purchase something from them rather than give us a credit on the financing. I have never dealt with such ignorant people, we have heard so many different lies and different stories that we do not trust them.
All they would have had to do was credit our account which was due in June, AS WE WERE TOLD THEY WOULD, and we'd have bought something from them within the next month or two. As it is I can only advise people to never, ever deal with Leon's.
