On Dec 22, I purchased a 54" Panasonic plasma TV from Fry's Electronics in Webster Tx. Of course they tried to sell me the $250 installation package, and the $350 extra warranty. I declined. The box was in good shape, so I never thought to open it at the store.
Took it home and opened the box. There was a good size dent in the top of the TV, about 1/3 the distance from the right side. The upper right quadrant of the screen was also broken in. No other apparent damage. I immediately took it back to the store to exchange it.
They filed a "concealed damage" claim with the manufacturer and 2 days later told me Panasonic refused to replace the TV. Fry's claims they are not responsible for the damage, since the box is in good shape it couldn't have happened at the store.
I'm trying to schedule one more meeting with them to get it replaced before I file a small-claims suit against them.
