I was recently contacted by a " Terry Washington" stating that I had won R 960 000 and my cellphone number was drawn in a gia bonanza competition via sms. They said the company was based in the UK and in order for them to transfer the money into my account I need to pay the tax clearance. They supplied me with a bank account to transfer the money in and so I did as I was told. The first amount I paid into this account was R2600 which according to them was for the certificate.in the sms I was told to contact a "Mr Tom Roberts" as he would be acting as my agent. I received the "certificate" but not the money because I was always given an excuse as to the cheque not having tax clearance even though I did as they told me to do. All in all I paid R10800 and I asked for them to give me a refund, seeing that I'm not receiving the R960 000 cheque and they agreed. But I still haven't received the refund. I need to know whether there is anything I can do in order to gain justice and my money back. Please help!!!
