I purchased a new portable air conditioner at WalMart and it just stopped working 6 weeks later. I took it back, because it said it had a 1 year warranty on it. But Walmart wouldnt take it back, they said the Manufacture (Haier America) wouldnt take it back from them. They told me to call the 800 number. I called the 800 number and was told it would be 3-4 WEEKS before they could send someone to check it out.
Six weeks later, a local Aircondition company called me and they told me they had just been contacted that morning. The repair man found that the power cord was faulty. When he tried to get them to send the part... They told him he would have to purchase the part and be reimbursed later.
Now, I run a business myself and this is not the way its suppose to work. Why would the local repairman be responsible for purchasing parts that are under warranty?
I have had nothing but trouble with these people. I will never buy anything that has their name on it again.
