Vzw i sent them a payment and they told me they didnt care they was going to write it off as a loss

I was talking with them about a pass due bill and i gave them a check to post date for the amount owed and they said ok and now they are telling me that they never talked to me and that my bill is now 3000.00 and i have only had the phone a mounth and my bill is only 119 at 8 this morning so how did it get so high so fast
