I purchased a Toshiba Sattelite laptop back in 2006 along with an extended warranty. When I asked about the warranty the salesman said warranty begins after manufacturers warranty ends. He also stated that accidental coverage is included with the warranty, meaning and i quote him " If you ever spill anything on the laptop or drop it and it breaks, the warranty company will replace it."
Well a couple weeks ago I dropped my laptop and know it does not want to start. I called the company that provides the warranty and explained to them what had happened, that I dropped my laptop and that it wasn't working anymore. The person I spoke to asked for the ticket number so i gave it to him. He then stated " I'm sorry sir but the warranty you purchased does not cover accidental coverage." I then told him that it did, I explained to him that when I asked about the warranty, the salesman said that accidental coverage was a part of the warranty I was going to purchase.
Well know I have a broken laptop and the warranty i bought is worthless. The whole reason I bought the warranty was for the accidental coverage which was supposed to be included but wasn't. I feel I was lied to to purchase some warranty that was not needed just so that the salesman could get more $ for his sale. The price for the insurance was 299.99, thats almost half the price of the laptop itself.
