I purchased a Hitachi 50HDX60 Plasma TV three years ago for over $4000 anticipating possibly 8 to 10 years service. It lasted exactly 3 years. The monitor went black. The cost of repair is over $1,300.00 Parts only, not including labor. MY COMPLAINT IS THE SHORT LIFE EXPECTANCY!!! The other complaint is the price of the two boards to repair it. It needs two boards that cost $1,300. That is a ripoff on repair parts. I could understand a couple hundred dollars but will not pay this exhorbitant cost. I will never buy another Hitachi product and will put them down at every chance I get! Any body want this thing?
