Dell Computer
Rip-off slow processing inept customer service Dude Your getting scammed! Interenet

I ordered from Dell. I did call & talk to a "customer service" person to make sure I received what I ordered; she asked me what I needed to use my computer for, etc. I advised them that using the internet was the "basic" purpose, but I would need the basic Microsoft stuff the computer advertised.

My "computer" came & I assembled it. I do know how to assemble it, as I had another computer (old, no current internet access) in another room in my house. I went to plug in my phone lines & I discovered that Dell had not put a modem in my computer.

I called & was immediately told I should contact them through their web site; obviously, I could not do that. When I told the cu rep that there was no modem in my computer, she refused to believe me and insulted my intelligence by "explaining" to me how to plug in the phone lines, since I "probably didn't understand" how to do it. I asked her where she thought I should "plug" in the lines, since there was NO MODEM.

Again, she suggested that I go on-line to discuss the problem with a tech rep&she just didn't GET IT.

After several more calls & 3 more weeks, I got the modem, and of course, installed it in 5 minutes. Now, all I had to do was connect with AOL (which came free with the purchase)

Guess what? I found out from AOL & Dell (they admitted it) that the new Millenium (which was loaded into the computer) was not yet found to be "compatible" and they were working on the "solution"

After calling tech support & getting frustrated several times by employees who could not be understood (no speaka da English— like most people) I FOUND THE SOLUTION & HAD TO EXPLAIN IT TO THE TEC SUPPORT GUY so he could explain it to future callers.

Another problem: After NOT receiving my FREE printer after 4 months, they admitted that they had run out of them. Well, duh, why wasn't I notified & sent another one with apology? The cu rep admitted that if I hadn't called, I would not have gotten anything. They did send a good one—no complaint for that.

After all that, the DELL does an adequate jo
