Charged me for a returned phone and reconnect cxharges

In August my Samsung i760 screen began to lose the protective coating. I was no longer able to use the touch screen. The desintegration of the screen kept expanding. I brought it to one store and they did not have a replacement available. I brought it to another store and the clerk there said I had GLUE on the screen. Don't think so. I told him and he insisted that it was glue. Since I am not an a. Hole I didn't argue with his stupidity and walked out.

I returned to the first store I went to and they gave me a number to call since I was under warranty. I called and a new phone was sent to me via PRIORITY MAIL USPS (important). I placed the defective phone and parts into the Priority Box they sent me, as per their instructions. The USPS could not scan the number because the return label DID NOT have a USPS number. (USPS, FEDEX, UPS do NOT have cross referenced tracking numbers) At the Post Office they could not scan the barcode so I wrote the number down.

The following month I have a $500 charge on my bill for that phone because THEY say they didn't get it back. I called Customer service and all they kept asking was the tracking number. I explained that when I dropped it at the PO they were not able to track it. They wanted to know why I sent it through the PO and I told them that I followed the instructions. They insisted that they never use USPS only FEDEX. I had to find my paperwork and prove to them that it was shipped USPS. At this point I realized the reason that USPS couldn't scan the barcode -it was a FEDEX number! They customer service rep kept asking me what the tracking number was and I kept telling him that it couldn't be scanned, therefore it couldn't be tracked - sounds simple to me - I was then cursed and hung up on.

In November, this started in September, all 4 of my lines were cut off for failing to pay the bill. I had to pay $15 per line, $60, to get my service back. December - same calls to Cust. Serv. Same non-results. Welcome to the new year. I get an auto call for payment. I call Cust Serv and get the same. "we don't mail USPS, What is the tracking Number. I gave then a number and they told me that they have no record. OF COURSE THEY DON'T it was NOT trackable through the USPS. Their records show that the phone has not been used. Do I need a $500 solitaire player??? Now I am awaiting a call from a manager.

If I am not absolved of theis charge of $521 $60 I will be contacting an attorney friend for a lawsuit. I have been, as well as my family, and in-law family, customers of Verizon for years. I will terminate my contract when I am up for renewal and so will both sides of my family. That will cost Verizon @ 45 phones x $50 month FOREVER. Is it worth it to them? I don't know but it will make me feel good knowing that $500 cost them $250,000 at least
