When I purchased a new DVR and HDL TV last January, Direct
TV automatically extended my contract for 2 years, without letting me know this was their policy.
I have talked to 6 or 8 people at Direct TV and they tell me I should have been told when I purched the equipement from Best Buys (I wasn't) or when the Direct TV person came to install the equipment (I wasn't told by him either).
This has been a terrible company to do business with and I'm cancelling the service next week, but because of their "hidden policy" it will cost me $240 to buy out my contract.
I strongly urge anyone to check them out carefully before signing up with them. Ask them whether your TV will work when it rains. (It will not)
