Micro Center
Protection plan scam

On December 22 I purchased a brand new Xbox 360 from the Denver, Colorado Micro Center store.in addition, I purchased a Bronze 2-year warranty of $59.99 on the system. Today, I turned on the Xbox and soon after the system started up, my TV screen went blank and the circle in the front of the box started flashing red. I knew I had an immediate problem. I pulled out my warranty information and called the customer service number (1-866-700-7992) and explained the problem. The person I spoke with was familiar with the problem and told me to bring the system into the store. I immediately went to the store.

When I explained the problem to the repair manager he told me that nothing could be done to fix it and I needed to contact Microsoft directly. First of all, why didn't the person on the phone tell me this couldn't be fixed? Second and more importantly, what good is a warranty if the store can't live up to its end of the deal?

I purchased this warranty in good faith that if such a problem were to arise Micro center would fix it and now I'm being told just the opposite. This warranty is just a scam and I have been ripped off by Micro center. Now I have to wait to two to three weeks until Microsoft can fix this and my children won't be able to play their new games they were getting this Christmas.
