Walmart-Extended warranty paln

I purchased a 2nd Samsung camera within 3 weeks of having purchased the first. The first camera was not as expensive, about $100 less. I was on a field trip and it got left behind, forgotten somehow. I went to purchase the 2nd camera and told the clerk I had just purchased one a few weeks earlier. I told her that I lost it by leaving it while on a field trip. She told me that if I purchase the extended warranty that it would cover anything that would happen to the camera except if I was to leave it or it got lost. I asked her anything? She said yes, except if you leave it like you lost the other one. She said if I dropped it, the camera was covered. I told her ok, that I would not leave it behind understanding that that would not be covered. (I also know that Sears sold such warranties and in experience Sear stood behind theirs. After about 14 months, I was preparing to take a shot. When I turn the camera on, I noticed that I could not see the images. There was what looked like a crack in the screen. I do not know how it got there. I remembered a while later, that I had purchased the extended warrenty and what the sales clerk told me. I went to the kicthen cabinet where I had taped the receipt to the inside door. I went to the customer service counter at the Walmart store that I had bought the camera. They called someone from the camera department. It just happen to be the same clerk that I remember who sold me the camera. She said that she had never seen anyone that bought an item back or used the extended warrenty plan before. I said, well... That's what I purchased it for. They tried to pull up the information on the computer at the customer servicce desk that was on the receipt. They realized that they could not because the purchase date was past 12 months, per them, the manufactures warranty expired which made the store no longer responsible. An other CMS (male), went to a register and brought back an extented warranty brochure. I was not given one at the time of sale. They told me to go home and called the toll free number and they would send me a bag to ship the camera off. They told me I would get a new camera. I went home and called the number. The representative said her name was Jennifer, and she asked me serval questions. My name, other contact information and some information from the receipt. When she asked what was wrong with the camera, I described it as truthfully as I knew how. I told her that it seems like the screen where you see the images had a crack. The conversation ended, she told me she could not help me. I told her I had a two year warranty. She offered to give me the remaining balance of the time left on the warranty that I paid for. They did not cover this. I tried to explain what was told to me at the selling of the extended warrenty and the fact I did not drop this camera, that I don't know what happeed to it. She told me that I could not change my report that the screen was cracked because she had already taken the information down. I told I don't want to change what I said. I was not a technical person and she asked me a question and I answered honestly. I did not not know that it was a loaded question. The next day I returned to Walmart. I told them that I did what they said and explained what happened. They inisited that the contract should be honored and that I should get a new camera. A Walmart manager Jennifer was called. I was told me don't let them try to fix it, they should give you want a new camera. She too examined the camera. She called the extended warranty number from the customer service counter. She asked me to bring the camera again to her while she was on the phone. Her words to describe the problem to them was "a black blob on the screen." In a short time, her counternance changed. She hung up the phone and told me that I could send the camera off and pay to have it fixed. They might reimburse me for the repair bill. I told her no, that I was going to take them to court so they can honor their agreement. I further explained that Walmart sales clerk lack proper training on the selling of their extended warrenty plan to the consumer.

Since then, I went to file a claim at the local magistrates office. Secondly, I have visisted several Walmart stores and notice they still lack education of the selling of the warrenty plan which does not upholds itself as told to the buyer. Thirdly, the sales clerk lack knowledge of the regular warranty. If you ask how long the warrenty last on am item, some say 30 days from the purchase date or as in my report, they were searching for 1 year from the date of purchase. Recently, to better understand what may have happen to my camera, because I tuely wanted to know since I know that I did nothing to it, I called the Samsung tec support number located in the booklets that came with the camera. They explained that the slighest pressue placed on the camera could break the liquid crystal located at the screen area. He mention something about their camera cases thary have which a designed to support this. Camera cases that I am most certain Walmart does not suggest or sell. Also, Samaung have their own repair. The prices seem reasonable, if they can indeed reapir the problem. Word of advise: Try to obtain not only first names but the last names of the clerks you deal with at Walmart. Wlmart's attorneys may appease you that they want to make you happy, how can they help? They take your information and they are peparing for your next step because this is nothing new to them.
