WARNING loyalty doesn't mean anything Phoenix

I'm VERY, VERY disappointed with DirecTV. I've been a customer since 1999. On August 19 I called saying that on one of my receivers I was not getting a picture and the other receiver was starting to get choppy and I wanted both receivers checked. The agent said someone would come Saturday and I indicated that I needed to be notified 30 minutes before they came as I'm physically disabled and needed someone to come over and open the door.

They called at 2 pm and said someone would be there by 3pm but the person came at 3:30pm instead and took my satellite dish down and said that someone would come the next day by 8am to relocate my dish. I canceled my morning appointment as DirecTV was coming. But no one came and was told when I called DirecTV that an appointment is never scheduled for an exact time. The appointment time was 9-12.

I called again at 2:30pm and was told my appointment was 12-4 not 8-12 at which time I reminded and stressed to the agent that I needed to be notified 30 minutes before they came as I'm physically disabled. But, of course, when I went to the restroom and no one else was home, they came. I called immediately and was told I needed to reschedule as somebody was there but no one was home. I stressed to the agent that I needed to be notified 30 minutes before they came as I'm physically disabled but no one did.

Then was told no one could come until Sept. 25th, but the subcontractor when I called directly gave me an appointment for Sept. 16th. I could not believe I would be without TV for almost a month. I couldn't believe after being a loyal customer for nine (9) years and having my account setup for automatic debit I was being treated this way.

On Sept. 14th I received a message on my answering machine confirming Sept. 16th appointment. On Sept. 16th no one came as of 2pm so I called DirecTV for confirmation. They indicated that I did not appear on their screen but I should call the sub-contractor. The number they gave me was wrong as the number was only for Tempe residents. I called DirecTV again to get the correct number.

I could not believe I had to call a different number as DirecTV could not help me. A Chris called me saying I was on his schedule as an insertion and would be coming. I did not understand. As I had this appointment set up a month ago plus I received a voice mail confirming Sept. 16th. Anyhow, Chris came with a trainee, Braiden and both were very professional and got all my TVs working properly.

Furthermore, I was charged for the moving of the dish plus the monthly fee even though I had no TV. My brother got the account credited for both charges but I the impression I got was that they believed they were doing me a favor. I HIGHLY doubt that if I was a NEW customer I would have been told that I couldn't have TV for almost a month.
