I took my lap top to "Laptops Plus" to have the DC jack repaired. I paid $322.00 for the repair.
Within three weeks the DC jack they had repaired was becoming loose and not making a good connection with the AC adapter. As I attempted to plug in the AC adapter I noticed a spark that came from the DC jack.
I took the lap top back withing a couple of weeks and was given a service order that stated "under warranty".
Upon inspection the store determined that my system board had fried as a result of the short from the DC jack they repaired. I was also told a new system board could cost anywhere from $800-$1,000.
I told the store I not only wanted the money I spent on the failed repair back, but also to have a ne system board installed at no charge.
They refused my request stating my warranty had expired.instead they offered me $85.00 for the expeditious service fee I paid and $95.00 for "failed service repair". This is just over half of what I paid for the incompetent service fee. I had to buy another lap top.
This is still pending. I may have to go to small claims over this.
