Sprint RadioShack Circuit City Best Buy rebate ripoffs Worldwide

Read fine print, dont believe sales people, dont think you are talking to Sprint when you call...

To all those who are expecting rebates from Sprint, please, first of all, READ the fine print, it is there for a reason, it makes it legal for the company to deny your rebate if you do not follow it to the letter. Also be aware, Radio Shack, Circuit City, Best Buys, and yes, even Sprint employees do not know all the rebates or the terms and conditions. They are in business to sell phones, etc, they do not care if you get the rebate or not, so buyer beware! If you are a new customer, you will get your rebate, provided they dont lose it, but they are NOT responsible for lost mail (and realistically, how can anyone be except for the US postal service?)

However, that being said, if you are an existing customer, they have you for the duration of your contract, and, unless you ADD a new line of service, and this means, in addition to any number (s) you may currently have, you are not entitled to the rebate, you cannot simply change your number, so you are not actually getting anything because you now have another phone number to pay for. You will be denied, unless, of course, you are a Preferred Customer, then they will make an exception for you, but, only if you claim you were misinformed by the store. If you are not Preferred but other, you will be denied! Also, you must keep your credit in good standing, and if they screw up your bill, too bad, no rebate for you!

It isnt Sprints fault if an employee of any store, including their own, fails to tell you, or even promises you a rebate, you wont get it if you fail to do one little thing on the form, so for goodness sake, READ them, dont let the salesperson offer to fill it in and send it for you either! Too often, those rebates never appear at the rebate center.

And by the way, you think, when you call the Sprint rebate place, that you are talking to Sprint employess? WRONG again, they are merely people hired by a company that handles rebates for hundreds of companies! Sprint sits next to Black and Decker, Cingular, Pepsi, Microsoft, Walgreens, etc. And two of the centers arent even in the US. The employees are told to say they are in Minnesota if they are asked! So, you are being lied to from the beginning.

Whew! But, I must add, Sprint does send out thousands of rebates through this company, to thousands of people. People need to take more responsibility as consumers and find out exactly what they must do to comply with terms and conditions, and not rely on a salesperson to do it for them. And please, do try and be cordial on the phone, the other person is just an employee trying to help you, they cannot help the fact that you are being ripped off, and most will try to find a way to assist you. Being nasty is not the answer, call Sprint directly or write their head office, as well, go back to the store where you bought your phone and complain to them if they told you one thing, or "forgot" to tell you another,
