I am glad that I have found your site and found the ammount of negitive feedback that frys has created for the consumer, whos hard earned money has been explotied time and time again. To fill you in, I am a gadget freak and I have spent my share of funds on electronic hardware software, dvds and music and spent a large sums on the latest and greatest electronics Frys had to offer (before Frys Circut City was my supplier of choose) long story short, I left CC to explore the large Store and purchased several computers, cell phones, sound systems, T.V. S etc. Etc and purchased extended warrinties on all large products, as i knew that most things bought from frys was bought at surplus and liqiudation auctions, and refurbished, that is the reason they offer the prices that they do. This is where my nightmares begain, I had bought a cell phone with extended coverage, I am a oilwell firefighter and left the following day to oversee a fire in the gulf of mexico and found on my drive to Alabama that my phone was defective, So I stopped in Houston at my cell phone provider to offer some assistance, I was told that the serial number to that phone was registered to a man from Houston and was then accused of stealing the phone, i showed him frys reciept and was told that I must return to frys, so I left, only to try again in New Orleans, and was told the same, so I bought5 new phone as comunication is vital offshore. I returned in 17 days to dallas store and told them what I had indured and was told buy the rudest store manager I have ever come accross in my 46 years that since it was past the 14 days for refund there was nothing that could be done, I explained to him about my situation and was told that if i did not leave I would be taken out by security, so with that I left the phone as it did not work and left the store. I thought of hiring a lawyer to intervine but figured it was not worth the cost of a phone to justify the extra cost (this is what Frys was counting on) About 3 months later I had a laptop (extended coverage) that was acting up and the screen had a few lines needing tweeking and removed, a battery that would not hold a charge (and was told by the sales person that with extended waranty battary was covered and that a loaner would be extended until mine was repaired) I was meet with the same manager, who told me in a rude tone to take to service. With reciept in hand was meet with a tech that told me that I needed my electric supply to carry out waranty work and was sent away. I leave in a town 70 miles away and returned a week later only to be told by the next tech, that the lines would have to be sent back to manufacture and that they were out of loaners and thought that the new operating system I had installed voided my coverage, I through my hands up in disbelive and took the computer and walked out the door, vowing to never buy another thing from this consumer ripoff store again. I tryed to contact upper managment by phone a few times but again fell upon deaf ears... I repaired the computer myself as it was needed for my job and never entered frys again. I sent my wife back a few months ago to see about replacing the battary, but again she was told that that battary was discontinued and they would have to order one if possible and would take 6 to 8 weeks. It has not been a experince i wish on no one and the trips and time spent the embersment we had to go through, as there employees talked to you as if they couldn't care less if you was a satisfied customer or not, I know that this is long and winded, but the energy that I felt when I saw your report and frys name plastered every where I had to tell my story, as this has been the only recourse to date I have had.in closing, Frys trains there enployees to make taking back the junk they so eager to sell you with all the bells and whistles, that it is imposible to get value from there store. I have since returned to Circuit City where there is never a hassle to return a defective product. Thank you for offering this service, I may never get my computer fixed as I was told with the waranty but it felt good to let other consumer know there plight
