I have been a customer of Cox Communications in Las Vegas for a few years now having both my cable tv and high-speed internet with them. I pay an average of $150 a month for both services.

Ever since I have had this service with Cox, I have never gotten what I am paying for completely. It is all too common now for people to have more than one tv in their homes connected to the cable service. It is the same in my home where I have 4 TV's connected throughout my two story home. Two tv's downstairs and two upstairs.

Ever since my cable was installed, the tv upstairs in my bedroom doesn't receive all the channels that my other tv's do. More than half of the channels I flip through just give me a black screen and no picture appears. Three times I have had Cox send a tech service person to my house to fix this.

The first time they told me the cable lines outside my home were really old and needed to be replaced. So they replaced all the lines outside my home and that didn't correct the problem.

The second time they came out, the guy told me that I have a lot of splitters running in my home to connect all the tv's and that certain splitters don't work well. He gave me new splitters to install myself and said that should correct the problem. After running all over my house and replacing all the splitters, that didn't correct the problem.

The third time they came out, the guy saw that all the lines were replaced and that I put all new splitters in. He said simply that because of how many tv's I have in my home that the signal from the Cox isn't strong enough to provide perfect service to all of them. He said Cox could boost the signal and that would fix my problem but that they don't like to do that because it cost them money. 3 years later and I still have this problem on my tv upstairs because Cox won't boost my signal.

Another problem is that my internet signal goes out regularly and seeing as I conduct my business over the internet, this is a HUGE problem. Every time it goes out, I call them to try and find out what's happening or to fix it. None of their tech people know what they are doing and they wind up blaming my computer for the problem and I just have to sit and wait for the signal to come back up.

Last problem with Cox was that last year I ordered a sports channel package for myself. They said they would charge me each month until the total was paid off. They charged me an extra 3 months over what they were supposed to. I called to complain and they play stupid saying they don't see what I am talking about. After 15 minutes of explaining it to them, they say the matter has to be sent to their refund department and that they would take care of it. One year later, I never heard anything about it again and never got a refund for the over-charge.
