Best buy extended waranty & service Rip Off

I bought an HP pc & also purchased the 3 year waranty & inhouse sevice contract. (Geek Squad) I started having problems with my pc about 6 months after I got it & tried to call & set up an inhouse service repair. They told me that they could not send anyone out without knowing what was wrong with it first.

This is rediculous since I already told them what it was doing & I do not konw anything about fixing it to give them anymore information about the problem. They still tried to walk me though trying to fix it over the phone & it did not work. They then told me that they still could not send anyone out to fix it & that I had to bring it in to the store for repair.

I took it in & was told it would take 1 to 2 weeks to fix it. I did not hear anything for about 2 weeks so I called them & they had not even started it. They called me back a week later to tell me that they need to delete everything on my harddrive & reload windows from scatch.

They said that it would cost me $150 to do this & another $100 to save all of my information that I had on the old harddrive & that these 2 things were not covered in my waranty. What the heck did I buy the waranty for???

Anyways, I will not buy a pc from Bestbuy ever again.
