Shock City Cellular sold me the 30 day trial run for Verizon wireless. The person who was selling to me gave me 5 phones all with lines attached to them but only two were registered, one was even registered onto my friends account with her number (but it stilled showed on my statements with a line on it go figure). He started with giving me one phone and somehow screwed up the process and said "keep it and use it for a hockey puck or something" then added another phone onto the account, screwed it up again and said "holy bleep crap... Pardon my language".
In the end I left the mall with 5 cell phones, one on another account, two with working lines, and the rest were dead plastic. I let it go and about 25 days later I went back to the store and tried to return everything, I wasn't happy with the service and was told to call the rep first on his private cell # and he would "hook me up".
I went into the store and attempted to return the phones. The manager was there and told me "We cannot take these phones because they are not in 'like new condition' and you didn't port your number." I didn't know what the hell he was talking about and proceeded to have a breakdown because I had about $1000.00 worth of merchandise with me that they refused to take and I am only a teenager, not much income to speak of.
I was told to contact Verizon and see what they would do for me and I did, long story short they honored the agreement of the thirty day trial and I paid the amount I was supposed to and Verizon wireless told me to keep the phones because they couldn't take them.
This was in July/August time and now in December I recieve a collections notice from Global Adjusters for around $2300.00 for the phones, I never recieved a bill and I never signed a contract stating I have to have 180 days of uninteruppted service to get the phones for free. Needless to say I AM disputing these charges and spreading the word as far as I can that I was DECIEVED and USED and Shock city doesn't even have the decency to contact me about it.
I strongly suggest spreading the word and saving friends and family from crooks like these!
