DirecTV - Unlawful Billing, TERRIBLE Customer Service that LIES and LIES some more

On July 14, we finally gave up on the box that we purchased from DirecTV that NEVER worked properly. We went to Best Buy and just as we had done more than once during the 10 years we had been loyal DirecTV customers, we bought a new one.

We asked which box we needed and the Best Buy employee pointed to a box, picked it up and handed it to us. We paid for it and went home. Note that we signed NOTHING and NOTHING was explained to us concerning "LEASES".

AFTER we purchased it and installed the box, AT THE END of the conversation, the DirecTV rep said we would be charged an EARLY CANCELLATION FEE if we stopped using their services within 3 years.

My husband demanded to speak to a supervisor that day who stated that we signed no such agreement, that we would owe no cancellation fee should we ever disconnect, and they were sorry for troubling such loyal customers.

On November 30, our service was disconnected as we are moving to a new home. Our HOA says nothing about allowing dishes and there are NONE visible in the neighborhood.

When I requested the disconnect, AGAIN we were told that we owned the equipment, that there would be no early cancellation fee.

On December 10th, $241.50 was stolen from our checking account and charged by DirecTV as an EARLY CANCELLATION FEE.

I have filed a dispute through our bank, have records of the employee IDs that we spoke to and am willing to join a CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT.

Had we known that they would be such money-grubbing lying $#%, we would have returned the unit to the store on the day we bought it, we only kept it because they LIED THROUGH THEIR TEETH and said it wasn't going to be an issue.

According to them, if you agree to be their customer, then they can reach into your checking account any time they feel like it. So RUN FROM DIRECTV if you know what's good for you.

Now they want us to return the "LEASED" box, but I can assure you that the only way that will happen is if they give us our money back!!!

Record EVERY conversation you have them and EVERY employee ID#, if you don't, then you will regret it!

I just got an email from DirecTV stating that they would NOT reverse the fee because we had canceled early. Beware corporate hacks who can't tell what the left hand is doing from the right.

The reps LIE and only keep record of what they CHOOSE to and will say ANYTHING to gain your confidence that they will do the RIGHT THING, but in the end they will LIE in order to get your hard-earned $.
