I bought a Sharp Aquos with a 32 inch screen at Sears in Antioch, California and became dissatisfied with the picture. No amount of adjustment could produce a clear picture. I decided to return the unit. (It appeared that it was used when I opened the carton.) I brought it back to Sears and just as I was about to enter the building out walked a latino male from a door marked "Employees Only" and offered to take the unit from me. As this was the first time that I returned anything to Sears I did not know that Sears normally issues a small tag to every customer who returns merchandise. I went into Sears and to the kiosk and swiped my Sears card and waited. No Sears employee came so I left as I had important matters to attend to.
As weeks passed I noticed there was no adjustment to my Sears account so I went to Sears to inquire. The manager and her assistant listened to me and the manager said that she would research my complaint but quite suddenly announced that she wasn't going to persue the matter any further and that she would see me in court and that I would have to deal with the attorneys Sears had.
I went to the same Sears and took photographs of all the security cameras, the exits and the lobby where the kiosk is. When I stepped into the lobby and snapped a picture I was confronted by two Sears personnel who told me not to take photographs.
All my subsequent complaints to Sears resulted in promises to deduct the amount from my balance but this never happened. Sears would not reissue another Sears card when my first Sears credit card expired and Sears also refused to let Fry's credit my account with items that I returned to Fry's and purchased with my Sears credit card.
