We tried to return a duplicate Canon copier which was purchased for a gift. I purchased the copier a few weeks before the birthday and could not return it within the fourteen days. When I received the copier by UPS it was damaged due to water and had to be replaced. When I was given the replacement I mentioned it was for a gift and was never told that it had to be returned within 14 days.
I read the entire front of the sales slip for a return policy, however, I never noticed the small print on the back. I have damage to my eye sight from Multiple Sclerosis and cannot see fine print. Even if I could have read the fine print, I think it's very unfair about the return policy that is for a gift.
I now have a printer that I cannot use and still need to replace the birthday gift. We had also planned on purchasing a new computor when we entered the store but after the way we were treated I will never purchase another item from Circuit City. I will also be writing to the local newspapers Action Express.
