Charging late fee because the check is still in the mail - dishonest fraudulent billing RIPOFF

Today April 26, I received the monthly bill stating that I my payment is past due and I owe $79.00. Obviously, the check was not received (now I have to pay an additional $35.00).

I called customer service and I was told that to bad - I had to pay the late fees because they said that the U.S. Postal Service lost the check (insinuating that I did not pay the bill). They would not give me credit nor would they talk about it unless they received a payment first, then they MIGHT talk about waiving the late fees.

There are several problems I feel that they are doing wrong.

1. The customer service and the manager on Duty [Terry Austin, ID number 7YP (so he says)] and they even tried to hang up on me. They were so rude that all professionalism was thrown out the window such the manager on duty was actually yelling at me and telling me that he was not going to talk over me. Then when I asked for his boss, Austin said that he went home already and continued to yell and be very hateful.

2. He said that the only way a customer can pay for their credit BILL was by mail only, to a P.O. Box. And by the way - it's the post office's fault. You cannot pay in person at the local store or on-line.

Therefore, here comes the extra money I will have to pay each month and thereafter to include stressors - a return receipt / signature from post office to verify that the U.S. Post Office delivered the mail. Approximately $7.00 each time

3. Then they said that if they do not receive anyone payment then it is the U.S. Postal Service Fault.

4. Then Terry Austin even said to make sure that I cancel the check from the bank. (had already called bank and the check was not cashed). - Here is another Fee to stop payment on a check - $35.00
