Lucky I didn't take their service Ripoff

After the hassel of getting what I thought as a great deal. I really was excited when Feb. 1 rolled around. I was so tired of comcast and their promises to keep my box from being on a timed out mode. The problem was never was the box, nor the wiring. Checked that. Just service issues that prevented me from using the demand feature. Seems every few hours I have to call in to get them to ding my box for an error code. It gets old, real old. They can't seem to get it fixed. So I elected direct TV. Direct, Direct what can I say. You blew it. I was prepared for a premimun package deal. Expensive! I waited 6.5 hours for installation. I even took off work early to meet your installers. Let me see ummm that's right 1300 to 1700. Now you have to be there for the installers okay. Come 16:30, no installer. Called installation. She said it would be near 1800 or 1900 hrs. I use my cell as a home phone. I called up direct TV. Put on hold several hours. I mean hours. I tried 1 800 614 7881,1800 488 5069 among other internet search numbers. I finally called their direct sales number and some guy from India said I don know wha you mean. UH, UH, this is sales, we not help you. I asked for another number and literally he could not give me one for customer service. (A live person). 1900 I called installation and cancelled due to no show. Finally at 2300 hours I obtained a customer service who thought it was no big deal that I had problems with installation and service wait times on the phone. Whew! Countless cell phone minutes, work hours missed ($251.50 in wages) agravation, and their lack of service standards. I guess I was lucky to cancel direct TV before I really got into their poor service standards. Can you imagine what it would had been if I got sucked into their black hole. I guess I will continue to use comcast crappy service. But that's another subject. I miss customer service when customer service really was customer service. No one cares about their intergrity of workmanship, just to make a quick buck. I never treat people like that. I make it right or work it out. I guess I feel like I'm the last of the old school when grandparents taught morales, ethics and honor.
