My boy friend and i were all excited about moving into a new place. We needed to find a cable or satilitte carrier for our telivision. We were intreged by Charters new deals they have been showing on TV. So we called them up.

They told us that due to the holiday season we would have to wait three weeks to get it hooked up. So regretably we did. I took a day off of work to be home when they came to hook it up. I was home all day no one came and no one called.

My boyfriend was at work and received a call on his cell phone saying that they would not be able to come hook up our cable due to no one being home and not being able to reach any one. So my boyfriend called me to see where i was and why i wasn't home.

I was infact home and i had not left the house at all during that day. So he called Charter to tell them they had no reason to cancel our appointment that i was home and someone could come an hook up the cable. They told him that no they could not because the appointment had already been canceled.

So he continued to tell them that i had been home all day and that they had no reason to be canceling our appointment. Not getting any where with them he called me and asked me to speak to them and see if i could get through to them and get things working.

So i called them and spoke to a young woman who spoke text book english and was VERY hard to uderstand. I asked to speak to her supervisor. After getting him on the phone and telling him what the case was and that they had no right to be canceling our appointment. He told me that there was nothing he could do.

I continued to plead my case to him and to tell him that i used a vacation day to sit at home and wait for them to show up and no one had so i asked him if he was going to pay me my regular hourly rate for sitting at home waiting for them to show up. Of course that got me no where. I then asked him what he was going to do for getting us set back up for an appointment he told me that the next available appointment would be in 3 weeks. I told him that no this would not work. They had told us that they would be there to hook up that cable between 1 and 5 in the afternoon. And it was only 4:30 that surely someone could be sent to my home to hook up my cable yet today.

He continued to tell me that no one was in the area and that there was no way he would be able to get anyone out there yet tonight. I asked what they had for a customer service policy and he told me. I then told him that if they are out to please their customers then they had better try harder and that i was going to switch companies becasue i was very disatisfied.

Later on in the week my boyfriend called them back after checking with a few satillite companies and finding them 10-20 dollars higher then charter. While pleading our case he got an appointment for later in the day and took a half day of vacation.

This time someone did show up and was ready to install it but he did not have the tools to open a box for the cable. So he helped boyfriend get an appointment for a few days later. He also told my boyfriend that someone could have infact came back the first time and hooked up the cable if they would have just tried to find someone instead of just flat out saying no.

Even though we are very displeased with charter we are still going to go through them for our cable net work. Once it is hooked up we hope to never have to see them again, till the day we move. They are a very poor comany and need to better met thier customer needs because i can see them loosing may customers with this kind of sewer rat service!
