In July my husband and I decided to change from Dish Network to Comcast simply because he needed high speed internet for an online class he was to begin. On July 13th, I called Dish Network and told them I wanted our service disconnected. I paid the balance over the phone using my credit card. No problems so far. However, on July 15, I receive a call from Dish Network asking why I changed service, I told her we wanted high speed internet and Dish did not provide internet. She said Dish would have internet services available in the Fall and did I want to do a side-by-side FREE comparison when it was available - I said sure!
Still no problems - until September! I received a bill in the mail for $41 from Dish. I called and wanted to know why. I was told I had called Dish on July 15th and had it re-started. I told her I DID NOT call on July 15th to have it re-started I have ComCast and did not need Dish. And furthermore the cable to my dish was cut the same day ComCast installed us so I could not have used it anyway.
At this point I had forgotten (it was two months ago) about the phone call asking me if I wanted a side by side comparison. Any how to try and make a long story not as long. I have called Dish numerous times telling them I did not request my service to be re-started. I thought I had finally got it resolved with an Operator named Kristy, Operator number FHR. Kristy said she would remove the charges from my account. Finally I thought a sensible woman.
Nope! Today I get a call from a collection agency for Dish telling me I owe Dish $41. AAARRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGGG
I called Dish immediately and told SOMEONE about my conversation with Kristy and gave them her operator number, he pulls up the file and wouldn't ya know it - NO notes in there saying she would remove the charges. So I'm screwed basically - I have no proof of the conversation, but they sure do have PROOF that I called and supposedly agreed to a side by side.
Very very frustating to say the least.
