On 9/24/06 I ordered a Sony digital camera from Circuit City on line. The reason for ordering the camera was because it came with a 512mb memory card (free with purchase). I received the camera on 9/28/06, but did not receive the card. I called and informed the company that I did not receive the card. After numerous calls I was informed that the card was out of stock. I then got a call from customer service saying that they would send me a gift certificate for $20.00 instead of the card. I declined that offer and asked for the card. I checked on how much that card would cost me and it was over $30.00 with tax. When I called the corporate office this morning they said that the card was not in stock. I then asked them why they were advertising a camera in their 10/15/06 advertisement with the same card as a free inducement. The only reply is that the person I talked to had not seen the ad and had no reply to my question. All I want is for the company to make good on their promise. Also are they advertising an inducement this week that they can't deliver on? If they can't seem to get me the card then how are they going to get the card to all the people who order the camera today?
The digital camera I ordered was a Sony Cyber Shot dscs500 the card that was to be shipped with it was a SanDisk SDMSPD512A10
The camera in the 10/15/06 ad (page 25) is the Sony Cyber-shot DSC-W70 Digital and the offer of the free card is the same card that was offered to me.
