DO NOT buy these portable printers! You will be sorry!
I have a BJC-85 that was purchased as a spare/travel printer. This unit has seen very little use, although I bought it 3.5 years ago. Keep in mind, these are NOT cheap. I paid $329.00 for this printer.
Here's what happens. Every time you power on this printer, it goes through a "cleaning cycle". Well guess what? There is a part called a "waste ink tank" that fills up and guess what else? It can only be changed by a Canon service center, as there is a "resetting" proceedure that is top secret.
They want $25 for the new "sponge" to put back in the waste ink tank. OK, I could live with that. However they want $75 labor PLUS shipping! The way I do my math is that I'll be spending $125 on a regular basis here if I want to use this thing.
It's a very bad design, and it is extortion to not have these replacement parts available to the consumer, along with directions to change it and "reset" the unit.
This is the definition of a rip off.
