Worldcom Wireless
Frustrating ripoff swindle

Looking for a good cellular company? Try Alltel. I have unlimited minutes, 2 year contract, for 69.99 a month and the people working in their customer service department are friendly, competant, accurate, fair and professional, unlike Worldcom.

Last May, I purchased a cellular phone service through a friend of my sister, who sells cellular phones. He uses Worldcom Wireless' services. Ok, fine. I had never really heard of them before, but decided to go ahead with the one year contract anyways.

The terms of the contract were 400 peak minutes, unlimited night and weekend minutes for $39.99 a month. That suited me at the time.

Everything was fine until I had to change my cellular number due to numerous incoming calls that were wrong numbers. The "Customer Service" Associate that assisted me sounded confused when I told her that I wanted to change my cellular number. I had to degrade myself by speaking in terms that a 3 year old would understand.

So this associate, after being put on hold for at least 15 minutes so she could search for a number to assign me, came back and told me what my new cellular number would be.

SO I went through the whole number-changing process, and I was informed that it would take about 24 hours for my phone to be active with the new number. That was on a Friday.

I gave them a few days to get their #@&! Together, and the next Wednesday, I unfortunately had to call back and be put on hold again, explain my situation to another representative, get ANOTHER number and wait another WEEK for that new number to finally work. Everything at that point was fine. I had my new number, I paid my bill, etc etc.

Then I get an invoice in the mail addressed to "BRANDON" (My name is Brandi.) It was a bill for a whole month's service of that first number that I didn't even get to use! So I called the cusomer service line AGAIN to resolve (?) this issue. Some resolution. To make a long story short, I had to get another number because they said the one that I was billed for didn't even exist (even though I was actively using it, and people were calling me on it).

The representative they billed me on another phone number and for me to pay that. Out of curiosity, I called the phone number that they told me to pay (which wasn't mine, and was just one number off) and it went to the voicemail of someone else! Yeah, I'm really going to pay someone else's bill, right? I am so astonished by the minimal amount of education these "customer service" workers have.

I can't believe their incourragable grammar and interpersonal skills and I can't believe this company even stays in business. If it weren't for being over-charged on their bills and actually PAYING it, they wouldn't have a leg to stand on.

I hope whoever has stock in this company sells it immediately, Worldcom is going under! Faulty business practices, miscommunication between departments, and customer service associates that probably didn't make it past 5th grade are all contributing factors which are making Worldcom fail as a company, amongst other things. My own career is devoted to customer service and I'm sure if the Fortune 500 company I work for hired one of these idiots, they would at least put them through a more complex, hands-on training.

My cellphone contract ends in about 20 days (and yes I am counting) with Worldcom and if they don't resolve my issues, not only will I definately not renew the contract, I will dispute anything else they expect me to pay for, like their silly little invoices with balances obtained from their imaginations.

In conclusion, Worldcom is the worst company I have ever dealt with and I am confident if they continue their poor business habits, they will soon be a thing of the past. Beware!
