I purchased a Emachines bundle 8 weeks ago from Best Buy. I recieved my best buy rebate within 3 weeks. I contacted Emachines today concerning those rebates. I was yelled at, and told I would not be getting my money back.
Why? Because I put my addy on the rebate form like this. * *rd ave east box 35. Why did I add the box 35? Because the rebates only go to street addys and the Post office will not deliver without the box 35 on the end.
So I was told by emachines that once i got my letters to re submit and it would take 10-12 weeks IF they honor it!
I wondered why does Best Buy let such practices go on. So I called them and I was informed that Best Buy is cutting out all rebates starting about a month ago. And will be trying to get out of there contract with Gateway/Emachines because of the scams they are giving to Best buy consumers.
I am DISGUSTED with Gateway/Emachines. I do think that Best Buy holds some liablilty, They should be honoring these faulty rebates that they advertised. I am livid! Now I wonder how long it will be before my emachine ends up not working.
