I purchased a receiver from u-bid.com. When opened at X-mas 2 of the channels didn't work. I was told to send the receiver to Onkyo for warrenty repairs at my cost. I explained that it was delivered defective and I thought that they should exchange, refund or give me credit.
Even though they shipped and billed me within their x-mas return period they said I won the auction 2 days prior and they aren't responsible. So now I have to pay for and wait to have the product repaired. They said they even extended their return policy from 15 to 30 days because of the x-mas holiday.
Well, if they understand that you usually don't open x-mas gifts especially hook up a complete surround system thats a gift for someone else, then they should have at least exchanged or paid for the shipping cost even if I was 2 days outside their return policy. They lost a very good customer and made a statement on how they treat us! Beware!
