On January 6, I purchased a new Nokia 6101 cell phone and T-mobile service from letstalk.com.
At checkout, I was shown a screen indicating that my cell phone was free (I have a screen shot of this page) and that no service activation fee would apply (t-mobile).
After making the purchase, I received an email indicating that my Visa Check Card had been charged $249.00 for the "free" phone plus an additional (correct) $39.19 for a purchased data cable —and that t-mobile would be charging me a $35.00 activation fee.
Subsequently, I called LetsTalk and spoke to service representative who cancelled my order. I received an email indicating that my order had been cancelled. My bank account shows a hold for the amount of $289.18 and I am pursuing this matter with my bank presently.
