This company really takes the cake. I posted a complaint in their discussion group because I wanted to find out from other Apple Consumers if they were having the same problems I was having.
My parents had bought me an iPod for Christmas which was huge of them. However, since Christmas (4 days ago) I have spent over $200.00 on accessories in order to actually use this iPod for anything other than a trinket on my desk.
The stand is $39.00
The plastic cover is $24.95 (which took about 1.50 of that to manufacture)
The AC Adapter is $29.00
The Remote is $29.00
The Boombox in which to actually play without using the ear plugs (which you're really only supposed to use for about 15 minutes a day) was over $99.00
Apple didn't even put a manual in the box. You have to go online and download the PDF because they are too cheap (at $299.00 and that's not the highest priced iPod) to include that in the package with the unit itself.
My problem is not only the flagerant greed on Mac/Apple's part but their gross disregard to the 1st amendment. Freedom of Speech.
They promptly deleted my posts from their discussion board because they know they rip off consumers. I am just amazed this place is allowed to stay in business.
There are cheaper computers. Cheaper iPods. But this company incessently rips off consumers with high priced low quality items.
When I had an issue with the tool bar on the desktop a few months... I was told by an Apple representative that it was tough that my tool bar didn't look right — and why care because it's only a tool bar. I was also told that if I had invested in the $6,000 system, I wouldn't have these problems but they really don't put a lot into their cheaper systems.
Can you believe that? Insane! What happened to pride in craftsmanship. Pride in work products. Pride in customer service. Peecha.
Absolutely ridiculous! I hope other computer buyers will take heed and buy or build their own computers from now on!
