Yeah, got to love those Best Buy BUCKS! I earned $18.00 worth myself eating at McDonald's. Last weekend I went to the new Best Buy in Appleton Wisconsin to spend them, but found out that these bucks are worth no more than the packaging that the toilet paper was wrapped in. First I tried buying a cd, they told me I could only use 1 card with the max value of $3.00. So I took that back to the shelf and looked for something else. Then I went up to the counter with a 50 pack of blank cd's. They told me I could only use a $1.00 card max. Then I tried a printer cartridge. Same thing, I could only use a $1.00 card. So I took that back, then I went over to the candy section, picked out 15 candy bars that were $. 98 cents each, (Yes, these are the same candy bars that you can purchase anywhere else for about $. 33,) and I grabbed 4 sodas at $1.20 each. Total value, $19.50.
Even though Thanksgiving was only the day before and the thought of food made my stomach turn. Or maybe it was still the after effects of McDonald's last month, but the last thing I wanted was food! But the thought of getting at least something for my Best Buy Bucks was worth more to me then going home empty handed since I felt I earned them. Well guess what, they could not honor them on anything that costed less than $1.25 before taxes, so that nixed the candy and soda idea too. So much for their advertising scam that says you can use as many as you want up to $300 in one vist per day per store.
By now I did not know if I was more upset at Best Buy for FALSE ADVERTISING, or McDonald's for having another year of giving away useless Mcdonalds Monopoly junk. At least last year I got a free small fry. Did anybody else ever notice when you get a free small fry from McDonald's, they make it a point to only put like four in the package? Either way, as far as I am concerned, I use to be a big buyer, and also a person who highly recommended Best Buy, but as of now, a week later, I will still not consider walking back into that store anytime in the near future.
