On the 30th October 05, I passed LAFNAC Digital Computers who are in my opinion the most underhanded, deceitful and totally disgusting retail shop I have ever had the dis-pleasure to enter.
The window display, displays various digital cameras. A Nikon Coolpix 4600 was displayed for $189 - marked as 220V (european voltage).
On entering the store and enquiring after this model, I was told the price was now $229 by a liar called Luis. After displaying his pitiful knowledge of the product; I said I would think about it and started to leave. At which point another liar approached me to state that the price was magically now $180. At this point I said I would take one.
When we reached the cashier's desk; he announced that the camera was $180 but including the leads (which are supplied in the box by Nikon) the total would be $335! I said I was not interested and after much tapping on his calculator it came down to $280, including a 256Mb memory stick. I questioned that the leads are included, when the second idiot/liar said Nikon now charge extra for leads. This is clearly not true:-

I will also be reporting this to Nikon USA, so that they understand thier company image is being both knowingly undersold and abused.
Although the price was a little higher than expected, I needed a camera. However no instruction manual was included, idiot/liar no. 2 said it was because the manuals were on the CD. Which they were NOT - clearly because that would have stated that leads and a battery charger should have been included.
It is so disapponting that a store equates to an experience. As such, this shop effectively tarnishes the whole image of the city of New York.
I urge everyone in the universe to avoid this evil place. This is beyond bad business practice it is verging upon criminal activity.
