We purchased a big screen TV (56") for $3,600 with extended warranty! At time of purchase, we were told the bulb (lamp) had a life expectancy of 3-5 years. Didn't have the TV for 90 days and bulb went out.
Waited 1 week for repair to come out, (although, when he asked what the tv was doing, he informed me at that time it would need a bulb & he didn't have any, but wouldn't order any that day, WHY? Had to check the TV first! Again, Why? WOULD IT HAVE BEEN SO BAD IF THEY HAD A BULB IN STOCK, IF THEY FOUND THEY WEREN'T GOING TO NEED IT FOR OUR TV?) 3-5 days later when he did come by we were told that it would take 1 - 2 weeks for bulb to come in. (If he had ordered the bulb the week before when he asked what the problem was, we could have gotten our TV repaired a lot sooner.
They didn't have any in stock had to get from manufacturer.) This informed me that they have this problem quite often, although they didn't or wouldn't admit to this.
We wanted to exchange the TV. Regional Manager, Dan Turner, refused to allow store manager, Bryan, to do this exchange. Didn't see a problem with us being without our $3,600 TV for a total of 3 weeks. WE'RE SORRY, BE WE HAVE A BIG PROBLEM WITH THIS! The store should stand behind their products.
When calling Dan, was told he didn't take calls, due to the fact that he travels. Can not reach Dan directly, although he seems to be the one to call the shots. I did speak to Heather. Said she could express the bulb in 2 days. HH Gregg is such a ripoff! We will never buy anything from there again. We will tell anyone who will listen the problems that we have faced. I am a secretary, and my husband hops freight daily (semi-driver). We have lots of contacts, and plan on telling everyone WHAT A RIP OFF HH GREGG STORE REALLY IS!
First, I believe that we were given a TV out of the store, not a new one! Second, we bought an extended warranty, so now we are locked into this store for all repairs for the next 5 years. I hate to think about the problems that we will have with this down the road, and there seems to be nothing that we can do about it. (At least I haven't found anyone to help yet, but I am still looking into it. Especially since we can't contact Dan like we want to.)
So here is my opinion for ALL consumers! Beware! Do not buy anything at all from hh gregg! They don't stand behind their products and they don't care if you have a problem or not!
