Below is the message that was sent to Circuit city I received automated responses that a customer service tech would reach me in 24 hours. They did not, nor did I ever receive a response except when I called the below 800 number I was told after review the manager could not help me. If you read on Circuit city charged me for the same blown speaker in the drivers door two times and when it blew the third time due to negligence they failed to offer me a dime or even another speaker. They refuse to answer any communication in writing.
MESSAGE: This is a complaint. I brought my car radio an infinity gold sysyem in for service as it would cut off in rainy conditions. I was told by your service tech that the car required rewiring and a new speaker as one was blown. That did not fix the problem and approximately 8 months later when my daughter returned from college the car was brought back to service and the tech said the problem was a loose wire That did not fix the problem and I was told by your technician that the speakers I had purchased were blown again. The tech
stated that since I did not purchase the extended warranty I would have to pay for speakers again. This time I purchased an extended warranty. That did not fix the problem and about 4 months later your tech stated I needed a new electric antenna. As you did not have the appropriate model in stock he suggested I get it replaced elsewhere I did get it replaced at a cost of $250.
That did not fix the problem as on Monday August 16 your technician Brendan at the Massapequa store thoroughly examined the car and found that the speakers installed twice by circuit city were incompatible with the infinity gold system such that the new speakers are causing most of the eight speakers in the car to blow and possibly have damaged the amp. He had to think about a solution and asked I return on wedensday August 17. Upon examining the car again on 8/17 Brendan asked that I return to the store as an entire new system was required for the car including rewiring as these speakers installed by circuit city has damaged the system such that repair was not practible. He said the manager was aware of circuit city's errors and would give me a very good deal.
After an hour and a half wait Brendan went to find
the manager who was still not available and proceeded to outline a deal that would cost me $768 plus tax and would result in a system that was much lower quality than my present Infinity gold system. This deal appeared to be not discounted, list price or higher, I asked to speak to the manager personally where upon I was asked to wait in line in the front of
the store. After a wait the manager Chris of the Massapequa store was not willing to speak to me and suggested I call 1 800 251 2665 as he was very busy.
Needless to say I have paid for reairs to this stereo several times I still have the same complaint I started with as well as several blown speakers and a blown amp. It should be known that this work is still under warranty.
It appears the best solution to repair this damage is to go with a new lessor quality sysyem as you don't sell stereo's that accomadate 8 speakers or the infinity gold system.
I believe you should speak with Brendan audio installer about this situation and let me know how you want to handle it. You can review my records under Deleted for privacy
At this time I am getting a second opinion as well as asking Jeep, the OEM, what it would require to repair the damage caused by circuit citys installation of 4 OHm non compatible speakers in a 2 ohm infinity gold system.
Needless to say I am extemely dissapointed in the manner I was treated by your store manager Chris and the lack of resolution to this problem.
