Complaint / Review
InPhonic
Ripoff, bad customer service, LIARS!

I got this e-mail address from usacomplaints.com website and was disgusted to see the many people who had been through the same thing I had.

I recently placed my first order for cell phones on June 22,2205. The guy who took my order offered me the Motorola v300 for free w/$50 rebate. I ordered 4 phones on the family plan and I switched from Cingular to T-Mobile. The T - Mobile plan was supposed to cost $69.99 for first 2 phones and $9.99 for each add - on line and I would be porting 3 of my Cingular phone numbers.

I felt comfortable after I placed the order until I checked the e-mail confirmations. I noticed one of the add - on lines had been listed under the wrong plan. On 6/23, in a long a drawn out attempt to reach a live person I finally got someone who said since the phone had already been shipped all I had to do was cancel the order, and then call Cingular to get the number ported back to Cingular, then call back to place a new order. The customer service rep was not nice and I felt this was not my mistake so why should I have to go through all this trouble.

Anyhow, I thought I was getting a good deal, so I made the phone calls. I stayed on the phone a very long time between Cingular and T - Mobile to find out how to port the number back. I then realized my Cingular phones had been cut off. I made another call to Cingular who said they were cutt off due to the porting of the numbers (I was never told we would lose service while waiting for the phones to ship).

I called InPhonics back and the rep said my service would pick up again during the shipping and I'd be able to use my Cingular phones until I started my service with T-Mobile (I later found out from another rep that was a lie.) I called InPhonics back again after being disconnected a couple of times (by this time I've spent half my day on the phone and was very angry)

I placed the new order with Mike and asked if his supervisor or someone could ship it faster since it was thier mistake - he said, "Sure, I can do that". I felt like the dilemma was over until I checked the e-mail confirmation and relized he ordered the wrong phone and there was a charge of $150.00 PLUS a charge for the faster shipping! I was fuming by this time!

I called the 800 number AGAIN and after 15 minutes got to talk to a rep named Mark who saifd he'd be glad to change the model of the phone however the promotion I was asking for was no longer valid! What! I'd just ordered three phones with that same promotion the day before! All Mark could say was I needed to call back to the sales department. So ANOTHER 15 minutes later

I got in touch with another rep named Mike who had to cancel the last order That had the wrong phone and place another order, He was alot nicer, but he said there were "no more" of the phones I wanted, he ultimately placed the order for a Nokia phone with a new number. I am still waiting on the arrival of the phones, but if there is ANY problems after I receive my order I will cancel everything, which will only result in a HUGE waste of time.

I am very disappointed with the first impression of this company, I plan to send a copy of this to T - mobile because they too generate a bad name from this company selling their product, I will also send a copy to the Corporate Headquarters for InPhonic.
