I got a family plan from Cingular Wireless, but after a few days I noticed that the calls were frequently dropped and the people on the other side of the line would not hear me or I would hear my voice being repeated like an echo which sounded to me as if the call was carried over the internet as you may have heard it over the internet when using the messenger.
I called Cingular Customer Service and I was told that Cingular only offers "Mid Service" in my area, so therefore they did not guarantee coverage indoors. That didn't sound right to me because I was paying full price for it and I was told that I could return the phones to the store where I had bought them.
I called to cancel and I was told that I owed them all the minutes I had used plus the activation fees of $18.00 per phone. I tried talking to customer service and I only got laughed at by the supervisor when I told him it wasn't fair for them to charge all that much. They were charging me $190.00 for less than 1 month of service.
Is there anything that could be done against this abuse?
