Compressor Lawsuit and reneging of food loss reimbursement check

Over a long 4th of July weekend my LG refrigerator compressor failed. I had just bought several hundred dollars worth of beef that me and a few friends went in on together so when it failed, I came home to a bloody, stinky mess that took several hours to clean and sanitize.

I was reassured that if the failure was caused by the defective compressor, they'd compensate me for my food losses.

Well, not sure how many days it was not working before I got back from vacation, but I do know it took over 10 days to get a service tech out there to fix it. Once it was confirmed that the compressor had failed, I immediately began the food loss compensation process.

NOTE: I have 2 teenage boys and we go through a lot of protein and food in general - not having a fridge for over a week was very expensive on it's own (eating out/delivery) let alone the cost to replace all the lost food. The $200 food loss plan was not sufficient when I had just literally put $500 worth of beef in the freezer before this happened (plus all the eating out expenses that I typically avoid as much as possible because it's too expensive).

Finally they offered $400 and though this is quite literally about half of what this truly cost me, I accepted. HOWEVER, they sent me a check for the default $200 and I have been struggling to get this resolved ever since. When I call them to talk about it now, it's like the $400 agreement never happened. It is like they are literally trying to scam you right in face as if people are really that ignorant. It's insulting.

I have never been treated so poorly from ant company, especially one that I spend well over $5000 on (my entire house is filled with LG products... defective compressor, lawsuit, and instead of just fixing it, they try to see how many people they can just blow off and they just give up fighting and go buy another one. This is how they treat their customers. Be warned.

Don't think they have the best products out there because they don't - my dishwasher racks rusted out twice now and it's only 5 years old. Wash machine doesn't wash as good as my old antique one did. The black stainless steel is flaking off the fridge, microwave, oven and dishwasher. Never again.
