Account was opened in December, with a one price, no extra for roaming or long distance nationwide.in April my son took the phone to Atlanta and I began getting charged for every text message that Cingular sent to the phone (although none had been requested) and there were charges for everything under the sun.
The phone was overcharged for April and May in excess of $500.00.in June I brought the phone back to Southern Pines, NC, and changed the number and the overcharges ceased.
I have not been able to get the overcharges removed because they say that they no longer have the records for the original phone number? I mostly dealt with the phone service, not local sales store.
Cingular also completely misrepresented the coverage area and I cannot get a signal in my home which is about 6 blocks from US rt. 1. The service is patchy all over this county and not even reliable until I get to Raleigh which is in excess of 50 miles. I was told that Cingular was going to be doing lots of updating and putting in towers because the US Open Golf Tournament will be held here next May.
I went to their website recently and all those upgrades are listed there; There isn't anything being done within 40 miles of here so I intend to cancel my account soon using misrepresentation as the reason.
