Siding purchase and installation - Siding installation

This is for the Marysville, WA location of Home Depot. We bought our siding through them and had them install it. The first problem was the colors we picked were no longer available, but it took a week or so to be told this. When the installation crew came, we asked about where the portable outhouse would be located as we weren't going to be home for them to use our bathroom. The woman in charge, Joann, said they didn't need one, they would use the bathrooms at the park nearby. Later, neighbors complained to us because the men in that crew were urinating at the side of our house and they saw it. One night we came home to find our garage door had been broken down. The crew said they had to open the door to work on the frame for the siding around it. They never called either one of us to do this. When they forced the door (it was locked), it broke the door and the metal runner it sets on (it's an old garage door setup). The whole door was knocked off. The crew also broke the antique light fixture on the outside of the house. We complained about that and we were told we were "raising red flags." We just wanted the fixture replaced. We were told it would be, then Joann later said she had to order it since it's so old, but we never got it. She later said she would give us a gift card for Home Depot in equal amount of what the fixture would cost but we never got that either. There were various sized gaps between the corners of siding up to two inches wide so the caulking is various thicknesses all over. The siding has been on for less than a year and there are areas that apparently weren't installed correctly as water is collecting behind them from somewhere and leaking down the siding causing discoloration and probably untold amounts of damage to the wood behind the siding. The crew also cut the phone line and refused to fix that. We were told we had to pay to repair that ourselves even though the men admitted to doing that. When we asked a supervisor to come look at the problems, the man made appointment but neither he nor Joann ever showed up.

Over all, it was a horrible experience. It was bad enough that we tell everyone to not even go to Home Depot. We go to Lowe's even though it's an extra 20 minute drive. It was bad enough the problems, but then to be told our complaints were "raising red flags." And our complaints were ignored. Don't do anything through Home Depot, they will have no respect for your property or concerns and they will just cover up any complaints you make.
