I had noticed an MWI Simple Escapes 2 drafted out of my checking account several times for an amount of $9.95. I thought that this was just something I had bought and had forgotten about.
I was looking through my account again today, online, and again, there was a draft there from the same company. I ended up calling my bank to see if they had a more in-depth account of what this might have been. The bank didn't even know what exactly the draft was, and only had a phone number and so I got the number and called (8778366903) which put me on hold what seemed like forever.
I then decided that while I was on hold, I was going to research this title MWI Simple Escapes 2 on the internet. The very first title that came up for the search was that it was a fraudulent company out of Connecticut. I kept researching and eventually found another number (8005682386). This actually got me talking to somebody.
I proceeded to ask what type of company this was, and she, a nice lady by the name of Nikia (#17004), stated it was a promotional deal that I PROBABLY agreed to when I had an account with AOL. I had an account with AOL years ago. Then she stated that it could have also been a promotion through Classmates.com. I am a member of Classmates.com, but I do not remember about agreeing with anything.
She stated that they could refund me only the $9.95 from the previous month, which would show up on my account in about two days. I then asked her that once I recieved my one time refund if they would take anymore money out of my account and she stated no. So I will look for my refund, and if they even start drafting again, you are going to see one mad person. I am now weary of what I put on the internet. I will probably end up cancelling my subscription with Classmates.com as well.
