On March 22, my husband and I purchased a sofa and loveseat from Value City. The sales person at Value City even performed a demonstration on this miracle called StainSafe. So, in good faith, we purchased the StainSafe 7 year warranty covering all food and beverage accidents burns, tears, ect.
The pieces were delivered the following Friday and not even 2 weeks after delivery, my son spilled grape juice on the side of the couch. I immediately used the cleaning kit, which did not work, and actually made the spill look worse since I have a light colored couch. It left a dark ring from where I tried to clean it myself. It happened on a Sunday night so I called StainSafe to report the claim. I was asked to fax information and I called a few weeks later to check the status. The customer service department told me the reason why it was taking so long, was because there wasn't any service techinicians in my area, and it would be "more cost efficient" to send me a new couch.
It wasn't until several calls to Value City and StainSafe that I was told that I would have to puchase a new warrany for my new couch which I refuse, because I don't think I should be penalized because they cannot honor their warranty. Value City was absolutely not help in the matter, since they did not return phone calls, was kept on hold for long periods of time, and ignored.
