High Traffic Conversion - AKA HCT, Also USPN, AKA USPN Internet
Ripoff or scam? $7500 paid inclusion for 10,000 pages and keywords in top directory - promised within 45 days I would see incredible traffic. Not!

I was contact by James of High Conversion Traffic regarding a sponsorship for an internet directory. At first I was skeptical but then after several phone calls and checking out their website, I warmed to the idea. They promised me 10,000 pages and 10,000 keywords for $7500. I was told they needed $1500 up front and the remainder would be paid in $2000 increment every 30 days. I should begin seeing traffic before the first payment was due.

When it came time for the first payment (after the initial $1500 was paid) my directory site had not yet been complete. I would not pay until the site was up. Shortly after the site went live, but less than 200 pages were indexed, no where near the 10,000 I was promised. I made the first $2000 payment via a wire transfer to their bank account.

James handled the money and the sales calls. I spoke with James, a Roger, a Carl, and with Gary Sloan during this period. On Wednesday, March 17, I received an Email from [email protected] indicating that they had "MOVED UP" and were now at a new location which is:

High Conversion Traffic, LLC
8665 W. Flamingo Road
Suite 2000
Las Vegas, Nevada 89147

702-933-2089 phone
702-933-2057 fax

I Emailed Traci requesting a couple of changes on my listing but did not hear back from her. I called the company on Friday and asked for Gary Sloan. Sandra answered and told me that Gary Sloan was no longer with the company. We had a very long conversation regarding many things. Sandra seemed very genuine and totally on the up-and-up. I felt confident that everything was okay and I did not have anything to worry about. On Monday, March 22, I checked my directory listing to see if the changes had been made and they had not. So, I tried to call the old number as I forgot about the new location. When I called the number a woman anwered with a simple, "Hello." I said I was looking for High Conversion Traffic, HCT. She said that HCT had moved and were no longer there and she didn't have any forwarding information. She said was just answering the phone as there are a bunch of units there. Later that day, Gary Sloan called me on my cell phone and left me a voicemail. I did not listen to the entire voicemail since I thought I already had his number. I tried the number and the same woman answered indicating that HCT is no longer at that location. I then hopped on google and searched for High Convertion Traffic to get their phone number and to my surprise, complaint on HCT was the #1 listing. I obviously opened it and became extremely aggitated and a little upset with what I read—2 complaints! I immediately checked the caller ID on my cell phone so I could call Gary Sloan back. I found the number which is 702-212-7300 and the company is USPN. I called the number and Gary answered the phone. I drilled Gary about what I discovered as well as my directory only having 180 or so pages indexed instead of 10,000. Gary said they split from HCT on Friday and it happened suddenly. He wanted me to speak with someone else so that person could reassure me what was going on (this is a tactic many USED CAR SALESMEN USE). Anyway, I continued to drill him. Gary said, "James was your sales person, right?" I replied, "yes, he was." Gary said, "He just walked in, let me get him on the phone." I immediately replied, "I do not like James in the least so getting him on the phone will do absolutely nothing to win me over." Gary said they were going to make certain I got what I paid for then we ended the conversation. I read the reports in-depth then I called back at 702-212-7300 and James answered (I'll never forget his voice). He said, "USPN." I said, "What company is this?" He said, "Who' asking." I said, "It doesn't matter who's asking, what company is this? What is USPN." This little avoiding each other went on for about two minutes before I finally spat something out about my attorney looking into this then hung up out of complete anger. I then searched google for the Better Busines Bureau in Las Vegas and found a number. I called it but it was not the number I needed. The woman provided me with the correct number to call which is (702) 320-4500. I called that number but the office was already closed. I then called USPN back again at (702) 212-7300 and asked for Gary who answered the phone. I was then put on the line with Carl. Carl, appraently, is the developer of the directories and HCT was the service selling them, according to Carl. Carl is the individual who posted the rebuttle on the first complaint. When I spoke with him last night, he was not aware of the second complaint. I wanted to know why when I asked what company this was I got the run-around and couldn't get a direct answer? He said that since the move just happened late Friday everyone was a little uneasy about everything. Hmmmmm... I said well it makes everything seem very fishy to me and leaves a bad taste in my mouth (or something similar). Carl reassured me over and over that he was a legitimate outfit and when he learned about the past history of the principles of HCT, he parted ways. I questioned how his company would be able to take over my directory if my so called "contract" was with HCT? He said they had made some sort of agreement.

By this time I was beginning to not believe anything anyone said. This is absolutely ridiculous. I've already paid $3500 and if Carl's company, USPN delivers what they promised, I will be more than happy to pay the remainder. This remains to be seen. I beleive google is doing a deep crawl at this moment so I should have a very good idea if I will receive additional pages indexed by week's end.in the meantime, I will be contacting the Attorney General who covers this particular area of Las Vegas as I have A LOT of questions to ask.

The Attorney General works for the public and if the company is NOT legitimate and they are SCAMMING people, the Attorney General's office would bring suite on behalf of the people. That's their job and the residents in the area vote this person in to do just that—protect the public. The Nevada Attorney General's HOTLINE for REPORTING FRAUD is 1-800-266-8688.

I really hope that Carl delivers what he has promised and his actions are NOT fradulent. We will know before week's end. I will post more as soon as I know what direction I am going. Carl, if you read this, I am giving you the benefit of the doubt here because I am a good person and I would lik to believe others are just as good. I am a single mother trying to make it on her own working for herself by starting a new company. I am almost out of money. This directory was to really help me get my business off the ground. If you are scamming me, please know you will have devastated the lives of not only me, but my young son as well.
